254SMo(S31254/1.4547/00Cr20Ni18Mo6CuN)

Introduction:
The 254SMo steel series is one of the earliest super austenitic stainless steels developed in the 1970s. It exhibits excellent general corrosion resistance in reducing media and outstanding resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments. Additionally, due to nitrogen strengthening, its strength is higher than that of ordinary chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels. These properties have led to increasingly widespread applications of 254SMo steel, and in some cases, it can even replace high-nickel corrosion-resistant alloys.

Applications:
This steel is mainly used for equipment and components exposed to seawater corrosion; bleaching equipment in the pulp and paper industry; structural parts in flue gas desulfurization; vessels and pipelines handling halide-containing media; and components in petrochemical facilities.
